Steps to Organizing an Association:
1. Invite all educational office personnel to attend an organizational meeting.
2. Select a temporary chairman who will call the meeting to order.
3. Elect a temporary secretary.
4. Recognize someone, usually one of those who initiated the meeting, to state the purpose of the called meeting.
5. Discussion should follow, touching upon the reasons for organizing, selection of a name, determination of membership qualifications, proposed dues amount, number of officers and other representatives, and the parliamentary authority to be adhered to.
6. Form a committee to develop the Bylaws and Standing Rules for the new organization with a time limit placed on the completion of those documents.
7. Adjourn the organizational meeting with a stated time and date for the next meeting.
